Bell Ringer: What happens to a wave when a reaches a change in medium (for example, goes from a rope to a spring)?

• • Wave table lab (in lab books)

    • For each setup described in the wave table lab:

      • Write a definition for the behavior you are trying to observe (circular waves, plane waves, reflection, etc.)

      • Draw a simplified diagram of what you observed. It is often helpful to send one "pulse" of a wave at a time to see what happens.

      • For continuous waves showing this behavior, try changing the frequency of the wave. Does changing the frequency impact the behavior of the wave? If so, how?

    • Labs should be done on notebook paper and turned in by tomorrow.
