    • No bell ringer

  • Quiz 4 - structural formulas, ball-and-stick models, space-filling models

    • Quiz 5 - memorized elements (may retake as many times as you need to get the score you want)

    • Bonds

      • Atoms bond until they have a full valence electron shell

      • This can be accomplished in 3 ways:

        • Taking electrons from another atom

        • Giving away electrons to another atom

        • Sharing electrons with another atom

    • Ionic bonds

      • Involves giving and taking of electrons

      • Always involves a "left side" element and a "right side" element

      • Bond happens because of charges (one atom becomes negative, the other becomes positive, and opposites attract)
