Bell Ringer: What are Newton's 1st and 2nd laws?

• • Finish projectile labs (due tomorrow)

  • Notes - Newton's 3rd law

    • For every action (force), there is an equal and opposite reaction (force)

    • e.g. When you push on a wall, the wall pushes back on you with the same force

    • e.g. When you kick a soccer ball, your foot applies a force to the ball which causes it to move, and the ball applies the same force back on your foot which causes your foot to slow down.

    • e.g. When a rocket is lifting off, the rocket applies a downward force on the fuel it is burning, and the fuel applies an upward force on the rocket (causing it to lift off)

  • Building bottle rockets (will launch these next time we have good weather for it)
