Bell Ringer: Why is it helpful to have equations that relate different variables?

• • Complete measurement and graphing lab (due Tuesday if not finished today)

  • Help with graphing, fitting a line, and finding a slope

  • Metric units, prefixes, and converting between them

    • How to use prefixes

      • Each prefix has a "multiple" number with it

      • This number tells you what multiple of the base unit this prefix is.

        • e.g. centi has the multiple 0.01, which means a centimeter is the same as 0.01 meters.

      • We use the multiple numbers to convert between the different metric units.

    • Read "Units of Measurement" section (pages 17-21)

    • On page 19, do problems 1-4 (due Tuesday)
