• • Bell Ringer: What is pressure?

  • Hand back papers, update table of contents

  • Begin "fluids" notes (chapter 3, section 3)

  • Pressure demonstration - bed of nails

  • Pressure calculations

    • Pressure equals force divided by area ( P = F / A )

    • Force should be in Newtons, Area in square meters, and Pressure is in Pascals

  • Mythbusters - pressure

    • When a deep-sea diving suit loses it's air supply, the pressure inside the suit drops. Since the pressure from the water does not change, their is much greater pressure outside the suit than inside, so the suit gets crushed.
