Notes - intro to waves
Mechanical waves - caused by a vibration that transfers energy through a material (or medium)
Transverse wave - wave motion and particle motion are perpendicular to each other
Longitudinal wave - wave motion and particle motion are parallel to each other
Surface wave - waves move in a straight line, particles move in small circles
