Bell Ringer: What is speed?
Factor-label for speeds
Speeds are always measured in (distance units) / (time units) (such as miles / hour or meter / second)
To convert these, simply convert either the distance or the time unit, then the other one
Be careful to place units correctly in conversion fractions that that unwanted units cancel
Begin chapter 3 notes
How fast can you moonwalk?
Make measurements of distance and time to calculate the speed at which you can moonwalk.
If you could moonwalk at that speed from here to the moon (a distance of 3.84403 x10^8 meters), how long would it take? Convert your answer from seconds to a reasonable unit for that time period.
