Bell Ringer: What is speed?

    • Factor-label for speeds

      • Speeds are always measured in (distance units) / (time units) (such as miles / hour or meter / second)

      • To convert these, simply convert either the distance or the time unit, then the other one

    • Be careful to place units correctly in conversion fractions that that unwanted units cancel

  • Begin chapter 3 notes

  • How fast can you moonwalk?

    • Make measurements of distance and time to calculate the speed at which you can moonwalk.

    • If you could moonwalk at that speed from here to the moon (a distance of 3.84403 x10^8 meters), how long would it take? Convert your answer from seconds to a reasonable unit for that time period.
