    • Bell Ringer: How fast can you moonwalk? How long would it take you to moonwalk to the moon (3.844 x 10^8 m)?

    • Hand back and discuss math skills quiz

    • Domino Lab (Full lab write-up. Write using complete sentences and correct spelling and grammar. Final draft should be NEATLY printed or typed.)

        • Purpose: To investigate the relationship between domino spacing and the speed at which they fall.

        • Hypothesis: If the distance between each domino is increased, then the overall speed of the dominoes will _________ (increase or decrease) because ___________.

        • Procedure: Summarize what you do to set up the lab, perform the experiment, and make the necessary measurements (see page 368 in textbook for example procedure).

        • Data: Make a table with columns for the spacing between dominoes, the length of the line of dominoes, and the time for them to fall.

        • Calculations: Calculate the speed for each run of dominoes. Make a new table with columns for domino spacing and overall speed.

        • Graph: Make a graph of speed on the Y-axis and domino spacing on the X-axis.

        • Conclusion: What is the relationship between domino spacing and the speed at which they fall? (State this in the same format as your hypothesis.) What shape does the graph form? Could this data be used to predict how fast any line of dominoes will fall? What problems did you encounter during the lab? Where might errors have occurred in your measurements?
