    • Bell Ringer (verbal): Balance the following equation: _______ Fe + _________O2 --> ________Fe2O3

    • Predicting yields / mole ratio notes

      1. Balance the equation

      2. Identify which 2 compounds the question is asking about.

      3. Set up a ratio in the following format, where "compound A" and "compound B" will be replaced with the formulas for the 2 compounds the question asks about.

        • ________moles compound A = ______________moles compound A

        • moles compound B moles compound B

4. For the left side of the fractions, use the coefficients from the balanced equation that go with each compound. For the right side, use the given mole amount for the known compound, and "X" (a variable) for the unknown compound.

5. Solve for X to find out how many moles of that compound are needed in or produced by the reaction
