BR: What do you have to do to water to make it boil? What do you have to do to ice to make it melt? How are these processes alike?

    • Have students read pages 84-88. They will need to take notes on these pages as they read (in whatever format they want).

    • They will have an open-notes quiz tomorrow over the states of matter and the changes of state. They will need to know the name and a description for each state of matter (solid, liquid, gas, plasma) and each change of state (evaporation, condensation, melting, freezing, and sublimation)

    • After reading, students should do page 88: 1-5 and turn in in the block 4 tray before the end of class.

  • States of matter drawing

      • Due tomorrow (9/8)

      • Students will draw a picture (one picture total, not a different picture for each) that shows each of the 4 states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, and plasma) and each of the 5 changes of state described in the book (evaporation, condensation, melting, freezing, and sublimation)

      • Pictures should be colored (markers and colored pencils in first cabinet above side counter, next to bottles of glue)

      • Pictures should be labeled (each state of matter and each change of state)
